The Quilt Cabin has officially folded into Holly's Quilt Cabin. The three stores have all been consolidated into one beautiful store. If you have never been in, please come visit and see the wonderful selection of fabrics and our great gifts. It has been fun to have input from the Quilt Cabin employees on new patterns and projects.

For you Jelly Roll fans, we know have Fractions on a Roll. The ease of our best selling pattern, Fractions, and the no cutting of Jelly Rolls. Solid Jelly Rolls now come in several colors, so use your imagination and see what you come up with!

Hey everyone!! Well, market samples are already heating up! The Hoffman Asian fabric this year is amazing and so is the quilt. Sorry no pics until the fabric is out. :(

Souffle (pictured) is out in the stores now and doing great! Amazing in how fast and easy it is to do. I'll be doing more of those.

We have lots of new fabric in as we have shelves from the Cabin in Holly's already. New lines going out every day. The newest Holly Taylor is on the shelf already.

Have a new Halloween quilt in the works so keep your eyes out-more posts very soon!

It has been a very eventful several months, and now we are closing in on the 1 year anniversary for the new store! It has been quite a year- learning how to handle bus loads of people, our first Shop Hop at the new location and of course,
the patterns.
Spring Market was a great success with Mountainpeek having quilts in 3 booths (not counting ours). The Fractions in the Timeless Treasures booth sold out of kits before the end of the first day. That was incredible. The Spotlight shown on the blog was in Hoffmans booth and we had another Fractions in Textile Creations booth.
New patterns are well under way for Fall market so look for new designs appearing in the next couple of weeks.
Thanks for being loyal to Mountainpeek!

It seems that the first thing I do in every blog is apologize for not keeping up. No exception this time :) Exciting things are happening and I will try very hard to keep you posted.

The Hoffman oriental line of fabrics they will show at Spring Market has already made it to me! The quilt for their booth is made and being quilted as I type. The pattern is Spotlight and is ready to roll. The quilt posted was in their booth at Fall Market in Houston in 2006.

It truly in an honor to have a quilt in their booth each Market. Not only will I have one in Hoffman's booth, but Timeless Treasures is making a kit of Fractions and I will be making the kit for their booth as well! I'm stilling pinching myself- quite the goings on. Of course during all of this, I am working on the patterns we will show at market and trying to get all the quilts and instructions done in a timely manner. Enough of that.

The shop is fabulous if you haven't been in. It just keeps getting better. The size allows me to order entire lines of fabric and have unique things there was not room for in the past. It is a joy to help customers put a quilt together because there are so many options.

If you like Sandra Dallas, she will be doing a book signing on her newest on May 12th. That should be a great day too!
Thanks for checking in-

Well, I apologize for being so deliquent on my blogging. Between Quilt Affair, The Move to the new store and Market, I have fallen woefully behind. I will do my best to be more prompt in the future.
There is exciting stuff going on though! I have a new pattern in the works we are calling "Roundabout". You could use those new Jelly Rolls as it is all 2 1/2" strips. Can't wait to sew some and get a picture to you! It is great to be in the store working on a new project so all the employees can give some input. Cathy and Brenda did the name of this one and have helped refine the design. I appreciate their help.
I am still working on Peeks and Valleys. Somtimes the best ones are very slow to come about. Hopefully that is the case with this one. What I have done is beautiful. It's the getting done part!
For those of you who haven't been in the store, it is absolutely fabulous! We have room to walk around, good lighting to see and lots of fabric. It is a very good place to be. Please come and visit if you can.
We will have a booth at Creative Festival in February at the Merchandise Mart. We look forward to seeing our friends there too.
The quilt in the picture is Sweet Sixteen/Easy Eight. It is a fat quarter quilt where 16 fats makes a twin size and 8 makes a baby or lap. Easy, easy, easy.
Try it out and let me know what you think-

Making Friends

Hi all! Sorry I have been so slow in getting the blog updated. With moving the store and getting ready for market it has been pretty busy.
The store is up and running and wonderful. Please stop and see us at 8210 S. Holly St. on the NE corner of Holly and County Line. You will be amazed at the size and how nice it is.
This quilt is Making Friends. It is one of the newest and uses all fat quarters on the inside- even for the setting triangles. We took all the scary out of points - they float so no cutting them off - and sash your triangles so no bias!
I'm excited about going to Quilt Market in Houston. I will have 2 quitls in Hoffman California's booth to be seen. It is very nice to have your quilts seen by many people.
I'll try and keep you updated about all the new things we find at market and how the store is going-

Wow! It was such a pleasure to read the comments so many of you left. I love how this works and will try and keep up with you all. Thank you Sam and Mary-Frances for sending so many people my way.
The new store is slated to open a week from tomorrow, on 9/27. There is still lots to do, but every time I go in and something else is done, it feels right. The classroom went together yesterday and should handle at least 14 people. Design wall is ordered so will be up in plenty of time.
I haven't found much time to work on my new design this week. I guess it will have to simmer a bit longer. It's always hard when the creative process gets put on hold. The good thing is that usually puts me into a frenzy when I can get going again and lots of new things happen.
For you local people, we will also be at Quilt A-Fair in Longmont this weekend. We have a wonderful fall quilt with a panel from Deb Strain and several other fall and winter quilts with kits.
I can't wait to send a blog from the new store!
The new picture is of County Lines. This quilt is currently being shown in the Hancock of Paducah catalog! We will have kits for this available in the new store while they last-
